Construction Machinery Exports to China Up 181%
Overall, the six month value of U.S. made construction machinery exports increased by 22% for a total value of $8.2 billion, according to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
Demand for U.S. made construction machinery experienced significant growth worldwide during the first half of 2007 with notable growth throughout Asia and Central America. Exports to China increased by 181% during this period as compared to the first six months of 2006, placing it as the 6 th largest importer of U.S. made construction equipment. The six month value of exports to Central America reached $815 million with delivery of U.S. made construction machinery increasing by 28% as compared to this period in 2006.
