California Economic Overview
Known simply as the " Golden State", California has come to symbolize America's ambition, its willingness to take risks, and its acceptance of cultural diversity. With more than 34 million residents, California is the nation's most populous state and represents 10% of the United States' total population. It produces in excess of $1 trillion worth of goods and services, generates 13% of the United States' Gross National Product and boasts the fifth largest economy in the world. It is America's largest export state and supports a wide spectrum of industries including tourism, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, telecommunications, engineering, aerospace and entertainment.
